LOOK WHAT i CAUGHT

I waited for over 2 hours at Lake panic bird hide for this Goliath Heron to catch a fish. he eventually caught it after many failed attempts. It was gobbled up in a few minutes. I loved the surprised look on the fish`s face!

I hate wild dogs!

During an early morning drive we came across 6 adult wild dogs teasing and playing with this old Buffalo Bull.After testing his stamina for 20 minutes they left him to continue laying around the mud pool for the rest of the day.

Soaked Sandgrouse

Sandgrouse feed on dry seed. The dry food needs augmentation by drinking water regularly. They fly long distances,160km round trip, to reach water sources. The young drink water from the male parent's soaked belly feathers.1g feather holds 8g water.

Chimney of Light

At night the Richtersveld sky transform into a jewel box of twinkling stars with the bright Milky Way shining like a chimney of light across the sky. Shooting stars fall out of the sky and streak on the horizon in absolute silence. The balanced and suspended Milky Way slowly move across the sky with the promise to once again shine tomorrow night.

The chase
